The St. Paul's church youth band will present their Christmas show on Sunday, December 21 at 5:00 p.m. downstairs in Fellowship Hall. Friends and family are invited to see the show.

    We will perform 11 songs by Trans-Siberian orchestra (with lots of electric guitar!) and there will be little skits in between the songs to describe the songs. Come enjoy the sounds of the season with our talented young performers. There are 5 troop members  in the show. David and Nick Morlock, Robert and Drew Gunn, and I will be in the show. This is a FREE performance!

Dear Troop 57 Scouts,

This year’s Holiday service project will be coordinated with Automotive Services’s (844 Warren Ave., Downers Grove) Annual Turkey Roast for a Bolingbrook food pantry. Automotive Services’s owner and top mechanic Jeff, (An Eagle Scout) prepares a full holiday meal for about 45 families using donations from many sources. His goal is to cook 45 full meals this year and, if possible, provide these families with other daily necessities.

Due to the tough economical times, the need for your donations is high. Please ask your families, friends and neighbors for donations to this project.  All donations need to be collected by Dec. 18th.  Please bring your donations to a regular scout meeting or my home, after Dec 1st .    The actual Turkey Roast will be done on Dec.21st  8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Automotive Services.  All scouts and their families are invited to stop by and help assemble the dinner/household goods packages.  This is also Automotive Services’s Christmas Party so it will not be an official scout function.

 This list below contains some suggestions.

 We would like each scout family to donate at least a

2 lb. can of coffee and 6 cans of food.

  • Parents!  Looking for a way to become more involved in Troop activities?  Want to help shape how the Troop addresses the needs of your son and all the other scouts?  Here are a few ideas...
          ---> Join the Troop Committee (Contact Nick Stepp)
          ---> Participate in Boards of Review for rank advancements
          ---> Become an Assistant Scoutmaster
          ---> Come up with a troop fundraising idea (Contact the fundraising chair, Joe Mihalko)
          ---> Come along on a campout or other activity (moms and dads are always welcome!)
          ---> Become a merit badge counselor
          ---> Suggest outing opportunities

    There are many ways you can help out!  You'll probably have fun doing it and get to know your son a little better at the same time!  Contact one of the scout leaders for additional information...
